Gurjogeshwar is the founder of ChromaLayer, a Windows tray app that gives a laptop’s built-in display seven coordinated color controls — Vibrancy, Color Temperature, Brightness, Contrast, Black Level, White Point and Hue — and keeps them applied across reboot, sign-in, sleep and display changes.

He works on the color engine itself: the BT.709 luminance weighting behind Vibrancy, the Planckian-locus approximation behind Color Temperature, and the watchdog that checks every five seconds that your settings are still actually applied and re-applies them when Windows tears the display pipeline down.

He writes here about why laptop color settings refuse to stay put, and about what the free fixes can and cannot do before any paid tool enters the picture.
